I actually thought that Pucksterguy as our forum classic rock guitar(solo) fan would post this. Anyway, so it is my duty now.

In memory of Eddie Van Halen who passed a way a week or so ago.

The solo:

My personal favourite song of them:

Their VERY classic tune, not to be missed on any 80ies party:

Two more great hits they had (one with the other singer):

I have my mind on many things now my friend, Sinera ty for the post. What an amazing trail blazer Eddie is indeed. I'm getting to the age when all my idols are passing. Where did the time go? TG for rock and roll heaven. I'll be heading there when I'm done here.

A good ole Canadian band, Kim Mitchel. I saw them live many times as they opened for Rush in the 80's.

What is going on in Japan with all the young ladies and girls playing the drums like pros at/since early ages? This is almost like from another planet, seriously.

And today I just found another one in a YT sidebar as suggestion (the highly energetic Yunna) and was happy to have clicked on it. You might know I was a drummer and on occasion watch all kinds of drum (solo or playthru-performance) videos (men and women of course) but I could never even do half of what these young japanese ladies can do at such young age.

Something going on on that 'remote' island for sure, so many prodigies combing their already incredible talent with impossible iron discipline. Samurai Percussionists - 'Drumurais', LOL? Amazing. Yeah, I posted already Senri videos before here, as I am quite impressed by her, but not the other 3 methinks, so again here's two examples each for all 4 of the best from this country.

Bear with me as I'm getting carried away, but it is so much fun for me. When I was younger and still active we did not have young girls do that. It was a 100% men thing. I like this kind of feminism for sure.

I chose mainly song play-throughs because I suspect that many of you don't watch mere drum solo vids. Hope you also Enjoy like I do! No matter which music they play here (jazz, rock, metal) these girls rock!

And now... (to quote Monty Python) for something completely different ...

Quote from a YT comment under this video:

"Klaus isn't dead. He just went back to his planet."

I concur.

Just like his friend and fan David Bowie. Maybe they even came from the same planet?
O.O

"When Wardruna sings, the Gods listen!"

This or similar is a famous and often used fan comment under almost all of their videos. Although I do not believe in 'the(ir) Gods' I understand the feeling and what the fans want to express.

Here is their brand newest song out for a few days, it is the title track of the upcoming album 'Kvitravn' in January.

Btw, "White Raven" was also Einar's stage name back in the days when he played the drums in a metal band.

Beautiful nature pictures to equally beautiful 'soul' music as always - Wardruna.

The Lost Gonzo Band - Texas dance halls - having fun and sometimes drinking too much - the times of my youth - really feeling this one

Most people know Mr. Bojangles and LA Freeway, but I have a couple of others.

Gettin By
Don't matter how you do it
Just do it like you know it
I've been down that road once or twice before

The Pickup Song - my brother and I would ride around with our grandfather - doing this and that - sliding across the seat as we took a turn

Haha, liked most of it. Communist mask zombies. Brandnew video by the successful metal band FFDP. Certainly controversial and it fits our current societal climate and political situation. Will stir a lot of discussion for sure. Certainly with a quite 'US-centric' view on these issues (most what this band does lyrically is) but worth watching anyway also for people like me who are not from the US.

Regrettably I think they are spot on, on how things are running and can change.

the lyrics of the new tool album are again really good. The lyrics of "fear inoculum" really hit the mark in the current world affairs (covid and presidential elections). almost as if they knew in 2019.

[Verse 1]
Immunity, long overdue
Contagion, I exhale you
Naive, I opened up to you
Venom and mania
Now, contagion, I exhale you

[Interlude]
The deceiver says, he says
"You belong to me
You don't wanna breathe the light of the others
Fear the light, fear the breath
Fear the others for eternity"
But I hear them now, inhale the clarity
Hear the venom, the venom in
What you say inoculated
Bless this immunity
Bless this immunity
Bless this immunity

[Chorus]
Exhale, expel
Recast my tale
Weave my allegorical elegy

[Verse 2]
Enumerate all that I'm to do
Calculating steps away from you
My own mitosis
Growing through division from mania

[Chorus]
Exhale, expel
Recast my tale
Weave my allegorical elegy

[Bridge]
Forfeit all control
You poison, you spectacle
Exorcise the spectacle
Exorcise the malady
Exorcise the disparate
Poison for eternity
Purge me and evacuate
The venom and the fear that binds me

[Outro]
Your veil now, lift away
I see you runnin'
Deceiver chased away
A long time comin'

"Such A Shame" that I can't be "Living In Another World" with what is going on right now but when I "Talk Talk" to myself I remind myself that "Life's What You Make It" wherever you are, right?

My goodness! How I love this live version of one of my favourite songs. Also love how during the guitar solo the genius Mark Hollis seems to sink down into a trance state sitting before the drum podium. So good. Need a time machine and go to THAT concert. I miss the 80ies musically anyway.

Best comment on this YT page: 'This is how Game Of Thrones should have ended'. I concur.
Another good one: 'For you Americans, this is every town In England except London'
:-D

'I Like' this one, too:

I like:
When they talk real loud, try to tell you what they know, say
I like:
When it blows real hard and it doesn't even show

They say, "It's plain to see, life is not a mystery to me"
I say, "That's plain as day, I hope you've got yours right anyway"

I like:
When they talk real loud, try to tell you what they know, say
I like:
When it blows real hard and it doesn't even show, say
I like:
When they haven't seen a thing and try to tell you where to go, say
I like:
When it blows real hard and it doesn't even show

What do they really know?
