In the 80ies the only vinyl I had from Pete Townsend was White City. It was famous for its kind of 'hit' - the up-beat shuffle song 'Face the Face'. Never liked it too much. The one I always loved though was the albums opening track "Give Blood". That is a killer of a typical 80ies bass sound and then there's also the great Simon Phillips on drums.
same song live, Mr Phillips is a right hander but has an amazing left hand too, he is always admired for his technique, til today one of the best session, clinic and studio drummers, and yeah, the rest of the band is good too of course...

"For anyone interested: The two languages used in this song are Modern English and proto-Norse. Proto-Norse (sometimes called proto-Germanic) was the language spoken by the Germanic peoples in northern Europe from about year 0 to ~500 AD. It is only attested in runic inscriptions, and these lyrics are taken from the Eggja Stone from the 600s AD, and is probably a late-stage proto-Norse when it was starting to transition to Old Norse (spoken by the vikings). This is written in the Elder Futhark. This language is very different from the Old Norse the vikings spoke."
Warning: it gets a bit 'graphic' after the 5 minute mark but it is clear what it is about (see quote). Still a great peace of art, song and video. It is a bit like metal band Tool would have sounded in the Stone Ages with a female singer instead of Maynard.
