Depending on your perspective, this stunning image could be fireworks, a supernovas, or abstract patterns—what you’re actually seeing are hidden dimensions of the world wide web. Dr Martyn Dade Robertson from Newcastle University in the UK is the creator of this artwork known as Data Portraits. He's developed a method of mapping websites and turning dull data into something beautiful.

These remind me of something I did as a kid, but the memory isn't fully recalled. I would use something to create shapes like this and it totally reminds me of some of the patterns in the image. It wasn't anything to do with computers, but a manual process.

I had a spirograph set. I used to Love the designs I was able to make.
