Acupuncture has been used for hundreds of years to treat a wide variety of ailments. This type of traditional Chinese medicine has been used as early as around 100 BC.

It is similar to acupressure in that the treatment requires putting pressure on certain points in the body. The only difference is that in acupuncture, needles are actually inserted into the skin.

Recent studies show that acupuncture is beneficial for fitness and overall physical health. Here are some of its benefits.
