Hint - wolves stop for a drink as they pass by.
A little hint - both in Colorado - come on, I know you all can figure it out.

I was looking at my hair in the sun, and it has 4 different colors - white, silver, blonde, and brunette. Maybe it is a reflection of my variable attention span - lol
Your a multi faceted woman. :)<3

Divided. Are you talking of the continental divide? hmmm need to sleep on it.

Bingo - you are the winner!
I have fond memories of that place.
Someone once told me that the things we talked about on a trip tp those mountains and the actions we took based on that conversation gave him the opportunity to see himself in a much more positive light and he described how people were responding to him with more respect. It felt like it was one of those beautiful life-altering (subtle) moments.
Hmm, hadn't thought about that for a long time!

Plus, I got dinner (won a bet) out of insisting that we were at the Continental Divide as it is much further west than most folks would place it on a map.

Anaeika, the bee on your bloom looks like it has 'eyes on the back of its head' staring back out at us:cool:
I know it's probably the light shining off its composite eyes, but it's still a really cool effect in the midst of a group of beautiful photos.

I know NOTHING about Colorado, but for some reason an old '70's trucking song came to mind. "Wolf Creek Pass". Would that be it Linda?

Second one - Continental divide at Wolf Creek Pass - 10,000 feet elevation BTW
HEY!!! I got it!! :D

"Wolf Creek (Crick) Pass, way up on The Big Divide...truckin' on down the other side!" And you DON'T want me to sing it...

C.W. McCall...one of my FAVORITES! His songs are hilarious...

Hint - Don't you almost see the smoke rising from the top of those tall rocks?
It is closed now, and I had no interest in walking all that way, although "the boy" assured me he could. lol

Linda, you're making a dog-diary that your blessed one will often refer to in dreams with twitchy toes.

That was Chimney Rock, a sacred place on Ute Tribal land between Pagosa Springs and Durango, Colorado.

I think so - he's done a pretty good job of traveling and adapting to many new places.

Today we spent time at Ghost Ranch, which is where Georgia O'Keeffe did so many of her paintings. The colors in this part of New Mexico are stunning. I can see how someone would want to paint there - so many subtle variations. Also, for me, the terrain in this area is a massive geology lesson. I asked about an easy trail and was told Box Canyon would be great - level, trees for shade (we are sunburned), etc. - just right. Sigh..... another reminder that descriptions are relative.

I hope you all have enjoyed our road trip - people don't do those much anymore, but it is a great way to see how land and climate change. Here is one of us on a trail at Ghost Ranch.

Also, I added a funny one from a place at home where I spend some time. The caption was When are you coming back?

Been up and down the east coast between, Toronto and Florida. With a side trip(driving a 69 Buick skylark.) to New Orleans 3 days, then a week at South padre Island. On the way stopping in Houston for the NASA museum and a quick stop in Corpus Christi. That was a great trip. Ain't done one of them in a long time. A great retirement project....

OK, I just got what you meant by the smoke rising from the top of the tall rocks. I thought you meant remnant volcanoes. But of course it was communication, that could be seen for many miles!

(As an aside, those bumps on the landscape would be considered mountains in Western Australia).

Ah!! like Melt my first thought was smoke signals, then I wondered about volcanos..

What a wonderful trip Linda, one I would love to do.

I’m also thinking how blessed all the canine friends are that you take home.

I bet you and your lovely hubby also feel blessed, because as much love that we pour on them, they give back by the truck load.
Always pleased to see us, wriggling in ecstasy at our return and pressing close when they feel us in deep distress.
Wonderful companions.

Thank you for sharing your journey:tswg
