I grew up as a quite reluctant Catholic (my mom's side of the family was all pretty devout) but my dad and paternal grandmother were "free spirits" in every sense of the word. My grandmother was a student of all religions and she spent much of her time studying the Eastern philosophies. She was also partial to the Unity Church and its appreciation of a great many different religions and spiritual practices. I was fortunate to be able to see both sides of the coin (organized religion AND the more "organic" spiritual practices as well).

Some rough years as a teen left me searching for (and, thankfully finding) a close personal relationship with Source, Spirit, or what many may refer to as "God". I became a bit less focused on spirituality once I joined the workforce and became a parent. After a time, because of a public service career, I became pretty heavily invested in the "fear-based" distractions pumped out by "The Posers That Were" and considered myself a bit of a "Prepper" for quite a few years.

A steady diet of the fear-porn and a large number of synchronicities forced me into awakening, shortly before 2012. At that time, I felt that the best way to survive the coming "collapse" would be a deep and very close communication with Universe. I returned to my roots, began studying many "New Age" sources and shook myself awake over a period of several months.

Since then, after delving heavily into the works of Dolores Cannon, Barbara Marciniak, and many, many others, I've come to have a greater understanding of my place as a spiritual being. In the years since 2012, I've begun to consider myself a "Light Worker"/Soul Volunteer. As such, I have profound intentions of helping anchor and co-create a New Earth. Ever since then, pretty much every available waking moment is focused on expanding my relationships with "Other Selves", discovering as much as I can about metaphysical subjects, and sharing my thoughts via my blog (at https://rememberinginfinity.wordpress.com). I'm also very grateful to now be able to connect with so many other like-minded folks here on Laron's forum!

It's been an AMAZING journey--and I'm super-excited to see what we can all create in the months, years, and millennia to come!

So that's my story...what set you off on the path to "Higher" Consciousness?

Hmmm. When I was born. Lol. Idk it's a bit odd on my side. I remember when I became concious (my first memory). The first moment where I started to be in control of my thoughts (or maybe when my brain grew big enough to handle self ) but ever since I was young I always thought and thought and knew that I enjoyed helping others. As I grew, my spirituality grew. I would describe myself as extra curious back then. I had deep thoughts before I learned what meditation was. But, I remember after elementary, I conciously decided that I would look towards outward sources to expand my conciousness. And immediately thereafter I discovered Edgar Cayce and everything clicked with my beliefs already. So... that was 2010-2011 ish. And the rest is history. Lol

I grew up Mormon .. I was adopted by Mormon peopleAnd I had some very special spiritual experiences.. When I turned 18 I left home and the church because I wasn't impressed with how women were 2nd class citizens.. Dabbled in witchcraft.. Satanism.. Golden dawn.. Then I realized it was all a way to control me somehow.. Now I am free to appreciate it all.. I don't have star markings in my chart but I still feel the call..

I grew up in the Methodist Church (the Buddhists of the Protestant world), and at the same time my parents had Edgar Cayce books. Somehow it all worked together. My parents were accepting of the odd things about me - out of body experience after I fell out of the tree, etc. As an adult I attended Unity and Methodist churches, again with no ill effects. One of the teachers at the Unity Church pointed me to Leadbeaters books. In the Methodist church I took the Disciples' course, which was a profound experience. I was just looking at my important books on the shelves behind me - spiritual Christianity, eastern philosophy, nature, Kyron, Campbell. I think I ring both sides of the bell.

mine was a ghost experience and that changed everything for me forever. Although i had strange things happen all my life, this was IN YOUR FACE kind of thing and changed everything!
Mmm when I was really young. I had my first ghost experience, except I didn't know what it was at the time and my family didn't believe me as I told them to look, they didn't see anything. So, it only induced fear during the experience.

Exactly it went on for THREE HRS! Of activity none stop and that is unprecedented for spirits/ghost activity. I felt more than one but the one was dominant in stompind down the hallway past the bedroom door that freaked me out. I was pulled by my ear like an old teacher would do to a kid. I seen black mass floating , a bright blue spark next to my face , kind of like when lighting a lighter u get sparks. But it was more "dense"?
I ran homein my boxers to tell my mother and her husband and they laughed at me like I was an idiot. Good thing she "Simi" believes now, kind of off and on. But yeah this started my ENTIRE JOURNEY! It wasn't until I found answers then everything, mystries, everything fell into place and things began making sense. Why people fell asleep around me or why I felt like other people when they were around thinking I was copying them but lol I was not mimicking. It was the empath stuff and sooo much more but I don't wanna type too much.

Haha, @Linda I love that "Buddhists of the Protestant world" quip! I grew up Methodist too... my dad was a lay minister and Sunday school superintendent for our little church, more of a Bible scholar than a thumper. That instilled in me the mind of seeking knowledge and rejecting dogmatism. Through an evening faith healing meeting I was attending, to learn about how this stuff works, I had a visit in my ear by a voice chanting "Prana... prana... prana", and then I fell down, just like they do on TV. That happened another time too, right after my body moved spontaneously into Warrior II yoga pose. The people there told me yoga was evil, so I stopped going to learn from them, but I had had a distinctly physical divine encounter there, literally knocked off my feet by a force that sounded like rushing wind and felt like a sack of potatoes had hit me in the gut, followed by uncontrollable laughter.

Later, while attending a meditation center with a friend, watching a video of the guru's yearly message, I recognized the voice I had heard there as hers (Gurumayi Chidvilasananda). I kept going to the meditation center, chanting, meditating, crying, crying, crying, serving in various ways, attending meditation intensives where the Guru sent shaktipat initiation... so many things I did in just a few years, and it was the culmination of lifetimes of having followed the same path, the same lineage, which arises from Kashmir Shaivism. I really got it that Shiva is consciousness, Jesus is anywhere your heart is, and the divine is within me as me. As it is in you.

Meanwhile, I was going to school for massage therapy and ended up studying everything they had to offer all the way through holistic counseling, as well as metaphysical healing/soul retrieval, as well as Healing Touch, all while (oh the universe has a sense of humor) pursuing a career in marketing at a biotech company in Southern California. Discovered Barbara Marciniak, Operation Terra, and others who've also come and gone. A side effect of all this healing and integration and trauma release work I was going through was that communication started with ??? via pendulum dowsing. I explored it, talked with my metaphysics teacher about it, and developed it into a method where I could receive clear communications, first with entities, dead Egyptians, ghosts, spirit guides, angels, ascended masters, and finally popped my head through the top of the astral membrane and there were the Pleiadian crew waiting for me. So that's how that started. Oh, and I did a lot of past-life healing too... I became able to see them like scenes from a movie, and relate what I saw and felt to healing in this life. I still do all these things (except for massage and the Siddha Yoga participation, though my meditation "technique" is based on that tantric tradition), and have seen past life scenes with people I know now... really clearly. Seeing your own death in other timelines somehow makes life sweeter and death seem like really no big deal.

So, I kept writing via the pendulum, and connecting for a friend who asked me to contact several dead people, which went really well, and getting messages in answer to questions she had about other lives and such, and then suddenly I was writing a book, then starting weekly messages posted on a blog, then a website, all the while dealing with the most loss and emotional-physical trauma I'd yet seen, balanced by having my son, and eventually meeting up with my lifetimes-love, my husband James. Reconnecting with him has brought everything up to an even higher level of wakening.

I've come to think that our individual path of awakening is something we plan with an eye to really polishing our heart, mind, and soul. Every detail in perfect balance, every segment of the path in perfect timing, until we feel total trust and entrainment to the soul, the divine Self. No mistakes.

Linda that is incredible. WOW how amazing . It sure is terrible the way people believe this or that is "evil"
It upsets me and really while I don't believe in an actual evil I suspect everything in the evil sense is actually just a negative

I believe evil in its best definition is simply a lack of love. Thus, the greater the evil, the less love there is to be seen.

It's really just fear. When you see it that way, it's much easier to find a place of compassion, and that's the first step toward dispelling it altogether. Most of the demons I've come across truly just want to go home.

I think you just hit the nail on the head Maryann. I come across that all the time with folks. They are driven by fear and feel trapped with no way out. They don't realize that there is a way out. Mostly by looking within analyzing their actions and correcting them. Many are just trying to impress the wrong people.

When I sat on my father's knee (maybe 5) and asked him how I was to understand religion and he told me to make a thorough investigation of all religions, not to just take one presented in my culture (Church of England). Also, I did go to the Junior Sunday School of that with my twin, and I remember telling them that the paintings they had on rolled canvas to show the "kiddies" were just stories (parables are in fact telling a spiritual truth in story format!) At age 6, writing a poem for school about circles, meaning circles of life, how there was no end point to a circle, and it all came about again. And walking my 7-year old friends around the school oval, discoursing on religion, the meaning of life, and the boundaries of the Universe (what infinity could mean). How, looking at my 6 year old hands and feet, and telling myself: These hands and feet have a long, long road ahead of them. Then later on, at school, making a decision to never attend Religious Studies class and being allowed to do pottery instead. And still later on, wanting to discuss Reincarnation in high school Science class. I told them it was a scientific subject. Then having a much older boyfriend tell me at 19 that he thought I resonated with a particular popular eastern guru of the time. 6 years later, I became a disciple of that guru! And the whole thing has just been unfolding ever since. That whole early life was like unpeeling layers of things I had already known.
