It grows in disturbed soil, mostly to partly sunny, it's more common on the north side of my house. It likes loamy soil. Cross section of stem is square which seems to indicate something in the mint family but I know my mints and it does not smell like mint. Flowers are tiny and purple-pink, similar to foxglove flowers. Leaves are spade-shaped with tiny scallops. Leaves on top are more purplish. Flowers never seem to grow on top of the plant but only grow below the leaves. I was thinking heal-all or motherwort but that doesn't seem to be a good fit.

I can't seem to find it in any of my plant books. Sorry for the blurry pic the sun was not up yet this morning.

Could it be henbit? https://www.ediblewildfood.com/henbit.aspx. The leaves on my plant have a short stem which you cannot see here.

Perhaps is it dead nettle?

I'd like to eat it if possible.

Nice wiki! I loved the patch of creeping charlie in our backyard, where I grew up. My favorite spot for lawn mowing, love the smell. Didn't know you could eat it!

I didn't know you could search for a plant like that.
Thanks.
