Tree Creeper, A 118 Year Old Painting Found in Antarctica
Josefin Bergmark-Jimene, an Antarctic Heritage Trust conservator, found the artwork labeled "1899 Tree Creeper" in a portfolio sitting on a bed while he was clearing out a hut in September 2016.

I thought that this was a fascinating find as it goes to show that many things from our past could be preserved in the ice — or on the ice — especially in locations like the north and south poles.

The painting is by famous British explorer Dr Edward Wilson, and is just about perfectly preserved thanks to the temperatures and conditions in Antarctica.
