Thanks, Laron. Wind, rain and hail here, but no snow. Bluff Knoll is one of the only points in WA that does receive snow, usually uncommonly long time inbetween. I also posted a picture of a Bluff Knoll free of snow in my Whale Nursery thread.

As a WA local, how common do you think it is? Once a year? Once every 5 years?

I was going to make a joke about hail...

I have a long list of unread threads I will eventually get to!

Bluff Knoll does receive light snow "dusting" most years, sometimes more than once in a year. However, according to Wikipedia, the last heavy snowfall of 20cm was in 1992. It is only 1,099 metres above sea level, and fairly close to a sea coast, hence the title "Knoll" which I think means a little hill. Those Anglophiles who named it must have been laughing up their sleeves, since the mountain territory in the UK is also not the highest in the world (although stunningly beautiful, I'm led to believe).

The hail we had lasted for all of 30 seconds, and my car was under the petrol station forecourt awning at the time.
