Hello All,

I have been vacationing in Arizona and decided to start a thread encouraging you to share pictures of your crystal & rock collection or maybe ones you have found interesting in a museum or out and about on a walk. This thread isn’t meant for help with identification; there is another thread dedicated to that.

Hope ya’ll share now! :)

These rocks are all found in Arizona. What does your part of the world have?

My most interesting finds have begun with "I was just looking down when I saw ....".

The lady I met from the rock & mineral club said she took her grandson out rockhunting and the first thing he picked up was a dinosaur bone. Those little guys spot them quickly being so close to the ground. Hehe

Don't laugh, but where I live, when I look down, I see..... sand. What once was rock. Oceans of sand swirling around and sculpting out would-be rocks, getting them into their granularity.

:)) :-D :D

Michigan
I'm in Michigan and they just discovered sodalite in the upper peninsula (UP) for the first time. Sodalite glows under UV light and the piece they found were large and rounded, like a dragon's egg. So it looked like a glowing dragon's egg.

We also have the petoskey stone, coral, limestone, granite of several types, and I don't know what else. Fossils of coral and invertebrate seal life (like sponges) are pretty common.

I'd LOVE to go sift through raw dirt for minerals, especially ones that glow under UV light. I make LED lights for a hobby and I can make some neat displays with the crystals and UV LED. Some of the things I made: https://ibb.co/album/c3yWFa

therium , that is very interesting. Do you have any pictures of the stones? I looked up the petoskey stone and it has so much historical interest. Michigan must have been under an ocean. There’s been so many Earth changes and stones like these capture my wonder about how it will continually change.

Based on what I know about how people think, I think the soul gets stuck at one point. When the picture is being taken, you are giving everything you have to make your photo look good. That means that when you are taking a picture, your soul is happy to be able to keep the moment as a memory to look back on. When someone takes a candid picture, the picture shows the person's clear soul, which shows their random emotions.

I like that explanation - when you are taking a snapshot, your soul takes one, too, and that is why so many times, when looking at a photo, we say - "Oh, I remember that day....".
