There have been quite a few stories about children in locked cars during the summer heat, so I thought it would be a good idea to cover this topic. I picked this board as it definitely is about well-being.
Car windows are designed not to shatter under most circumstances. One of my friends sent me this news clip from her home town about a 12-year-old boy who managed to break through a windshield to get a baby out of a hot car. He did a great job with what he had; however, the right tool would have made a huge difference. The first link goes to the news story - he is quite a young man!
The second clip shows tools designed to break car windows and cut seat belts. I have one - not that I expect a problem for me, but more to help someone else. The tools are not expensive and available at most car parts stores. If you are not aware of how they work, it will surprise you.
