Interstellar Error Type 1

One thousand people said that there was a world
A distant one full of wonders and marvels
Golden palaces, beautiful princesses and awesome men
Extravagant benevolent creatures and tasty fruits
Who wouldn't want to go there?
One thousand people could not go there though
As much as they craved for such paradise
There was always something else
So in wonder and longing they stayed
An engineer was comfortable though
Yet only he could explore such land
Why can't you go? He often asked
"I have no money and I am too busy"
Others claimed something else
"I hate the institution that builds spacecraft
for they are very evil and business I will not do"
Excited they were with the news
That the peaceful engineer off would go to explore
As soon as he arrived, to his surprise
Isolation and grayness he found
No signs of paradise could be glimpsed
Only an ancient computer among the ruins
Of a possibly once brilliant civilization stood there
"Computer tell me about this place,
Where is the celebration?"
To the query computer said:
"Celebration here ended an eon ago,
According to calculations, celebration now happens
where you come from."
Puzzled the engineer came back and reported
His results to one thousand craving people
To this one answered crying defeat:
"What have we done? There is no other thing left to do
But to celebrate here, thus the princesses,
the dogs and the cats we must bring.
And so the one thousand and one people celebrated
In what was once their miserable place and would
Then be turned into land of wonders.

I'm not sure whether that technically qualifies as poetry, prose, or what...but in whatever case, it spoke volumes. An absolutely brilliant piece of work. And I just love, love, LOVE the ending!!

Wow, that is very encouraging! Thank you soo so much dear Stargazer!! I am happy to read your comments and how much you sensed in it. It's a little strange lol, I guess it cannot be fitted into a formal piece of literature haha not sure it follows the rules...but lately, I am working on several pieces like this one.

What I am thinking is that I'll post them all in one thread to avoid occupying much space in here. So expect many more like this one. :p

A big hug for you my friend!!! <3 <3 <3 :D

Interstellar Error Type 2

Magnificent images and other transmissions
Arriving from distant place stirred this world
Exhilarated were entire crowds of enthusiasts
Onlookers applied for such trip
But only a selected few would strive
For such odyssey to meet with that race
Of advanced architects and physicians
That only in imagination could take place
Young cosmonaut would stay and inform
Of life and culture and more
Behold! the innocent man claimed
Perfection in this planet only exists!
For there are no cracks or defects
On buildings or streets or other designs
Eternal health can always be enjoyed
For no disease ever touches a being
Simple and quiet and peaceful is life
Such brilliant dream does exist
One year passes by and nostalgia is seen
In the eyes of the young man who once came
To stay and record about life
About thought about work and much more
Pictures of problems I can't take
Unless lack of problems you accept
As a problem in itself for there is no noise
No rupture in order or existence of passion
To a futuristic monastery I came
Where there is no revolt or even a party
Unemployment rate would be extreme
If scientists based ther research in a question
For there is not much to question in here
And back I will go to my chaos
Excitement and contrast we love
And that is what makes us unique.

Well known where the beautiful priestesses
And the distinguished gentlemen of such valleys
The fresh waters and oceans and mountains
Splendor and sweetness emanated
From every corner of this crystal clear planet
Darkness had never touched such purity
And unbelievable was such incidence
Of high purity and cleanliness of mind and soul
Wrongness fitted not in description
Of the nature of both the souls and the realm
Human curiosity with no doubt explored
Through the eyes of another traveler
Who decided to pass by and stay
Tired of loudness and imbalance
Unappy wife and demanding children
Grumpy boss and thickness of smog
With jewels and flowers and delicacies
This man drunk he was in the arms of these ladies
Naturally forgetting the old ways
Until longing in his heart could he not avoid
For life was simple and unchanged
Technology unknown to these people
No goals or ambitions or issues
Anger grew in his soul as time passed
For no one seemed to ever care
No understanding, empathy or compassion
For there was no way of relating
In a planet that isolated existed
From the grips of darkness that brought
Other values such as forgiveness,
acceptance an mercy
And words of comfort and some hugging
"So sorry but there are no problems,
hard to understand you we feel."
The priests and priestess said
In disenchantment the man thus left
To go back and take out all the children
And the wife on vacation to a small place
Out of the tech games and work
To enjoy the peace that he craved.

A very ill man sought help everywhere
In our planet he traveled with the aid
Of loved ones who cared
To the hands of well-known doctors
Specialists and healers
Only to hear discouraging words:
"Cure is not known or found
For your rare disease"
In disappointment thus he left
Lucky day was the day when they heard
Rumors of advanced civilization
That was to be found in sector 3
Of the vast galaxy that embraced us
With thousands of stars and possible homes
Off loved ones and ill one left
To encounter the advanced healers
Miracle of God would they expect
In the hands of this godly species
Once they arrived
Large headed elegant beings
Immediately took the poor man
Agonizing he was in his delirium
High fevers and tremors were constant
Supreme healer came back
Pronouncing this truth:
"Cured your man cannot be,
For he does not need to be cured.
Human beings have forgotten,
That not all must be resisted.
For he only needs rest,
And to allow the symptoms to pass.
Process of morphing he is going through,
Wellness he will find afterwards.
Seek no more and allow,
For your human will live to tell."
Puzzled they all left with his ill one
A few days passed
One day he woke up with new eyes
New skin and new mind.
Healthier he was than before.
Joyful his gaze beheld,
Smiles of his loved ones who cared.

Wow that is really good.....I enjoyed it....am, I right in saying it is a sort of "Grass is greener on the other side" concept only more rounded and descriptive. Beautifully written. Thank you.

Interstellar Error Type 5

Heaviest was the war of the century
The man flew away from red planet
To seek desperate refuge
Any habitable sphere was good enough
To escape from such horror
Endless was the arsenal
Even worse the despair and patriotism
Failed illusions and ambitions
Of such nation that reason had lost
In its quest to conquer all lands
Possible within the range of those eyes
Immediate stop thus the man made
In coldest planet ever found
But far away was he at least from fire
Whiteness extended to infinite
Endless was the emptiness and the cold
Even worse was the cold in his heart
For war had blocked his inner warmth
Harsh were the nights and the days
Often wondering about his return
To dreadful holocaust
Only to say no to himself
For coldness was cruel but no worse
Than the dreads of blood and screams
Loneliness his constant companion
Embraced in his new home
By freezing breezes and blows
That felt like blades on his chin
Until one unexpected day
An inner warmth he felt
Extending outside like the heat
Of a sweet brilliant sun
Such was the magnitude of his light
That out of his cave he witnessed
Beautiful miracle of an end of a cycle
Beautiful green land he could see
And there on the distant a hut
Where soft smoke emerged
Only then when his heart radiated heat
Could he see that alone he was not
For all the snow had finally melted
Revealing to him a new life
