(This thread is dedicated to those seeking answers and help around projecting out of body and having a consciousness experience. Feel free to ask questions. If you are searching for information on Remote Viewing, we have a board dedicated to that topic here. — Laron)

As you sugjested Laron here i go. I make it personal but also more general.

I heard a certain amount about astral projection, obe, i surely do it constantly in the unconcious but with no real clue what goes on.

So is there a fear that blocks something. I d like to know how to test it. Intention is as with nearly all the most important part of the game. So how do i know the intention is right and or strong enough.

One thing was the spaceship i builded in cerativerse a 3d building game and i imagined to fly with it with all of us in it. It was a nice thought that was partially tansmitted.

So Mr Short has written his thoughts to understand better and elongate the magic

So how do i know the intention is right and or strong enough.
I suppose this is the (first) question?

Maybe pose it a different way, more active: how can you intensify the intention?

This is also done by certain actions. E.g. you can make affirmations before bed. E.g. the Buhlman affirmation is a simple "I am out-of-body NOW". Repeat it and mean it. Then dose off a little but keep an anchor in the back of your mind, it's a tightrope walk actually, notice the changes, the blackness, the hypnagogic images or your thougths that come and go, the tiredness that sets in but yet not enought to fall into sleep, then try to catch the 'window' and you get into the 'phase'. (Vibrations might set in or not).

Do it better after you have slept for e.g. 3 hours and then go back. The best strategy for beginners is therefore the INdirect method. Direct would be e.g. from meditation without sleep before.
So it is better for the beginner you try after 3 hours of sleep when you are already almost falling asleep. But keep yourself wake enough and then make the affirmations. It is called the WB2B (wake back to bed) method. Doing this is another way to PUT ENERGY and ATTENTION into the PROCESS and this again strengthens and shows your intent.

You can also do other things that helped others to have these experiences. E.g. start a normal dream journal which the also can become an AP journal (I have both in one). This is also a way also to intensify your intention because you PUT ENERGY and ATTENTION into the process of having an AP this night. Anything you do actually to help it can lead to it because it reinforces your intent. The Larger Consciousness system knows now "you are serious" with this. ;)

Reading methodical/technical books (or view videos) about AP also helps of course. Just occupy your thoughts with it. Already Sylvan Muldoon in his first book (in 1929) wrote about how he always thinks about it during the day and how this PRIMED his mind.

You also showed your intention by creating this thread. ;)

After you are in the phase, before that actually, you can also ask your guides and helpers to help you out when you are finally in the 'phase' (e.g. with vibrations, but not necessarily). In my beginning times about 50% they did. So I got to know a few nice people, also by name. It is lovely to meet your helpers and fly with them over cities and landscapes of fantastic realms. Love the memories.
<3

Beware: You also need patience because it might not work the first attempts. Try a few nights in succession and see what happens. Don't give up to early and keep your intention high! Also during the day.

I am sure Laron has quite a few more good suggestions.

I might also add more, but also maybe with other specific questions you have. I do not project anymore a lot but I have a busy projecting past so I do it more out of memory now.
;)o:)

We should not confuse RV (which is a great practice of course) with AP/OBE in my view. Alain asked for AP. Why not go directly for it? Of course RV and meditation are great tools. Still he can start with exercising controlled APs.

I think I understand your question like this: Are you doing enough to create a strong enough intention to leave your body? Sinera touched upon some important things to answer this.

What it comes down to is dedicating your life, changing many aspects of the way you live, to achieve your goal. Think about how an athlete trains, how often they train, and there comes lifestyle changes here, so they may eat differently too.

Some of the things you can do to make sure your intention is strong enough: (I'm repeating a few things from what has already been said)
  • Read and/or watch material on this subject each day or every few days. So a book from Robert Monroe, William Buhlman, Robert Bruce, etc. The more your mind and consciousness is focused on the topic of what you want to achieve, you raise the chances of projecting.
  • Use affirmations in a daily meditation, or before projecting (afternoons are a good time to project, and around 4-5AM depending on your sleep cycle, otherwise before bed but it is more difficult then).
  • Reality checks: Once an hour, use a reality check and question your self if you are out of body, or in the waking world. There are many methods to use. One is jumping in the air, and if you float up through the ceiling, you know you are out of body. (meaning you may do this in a dream a a result of doing it so often in the waking world, and it will help you project out of body)
  • Work on your ego. Reflect back through meditation on your day, or the day before, and concentrate on how you acted and reacted with people. Was it emotion/ego that was coming out? Identify the exact emotion / element, was it fear, anger? Jealousy? As we need to be able to not have our ego control us to have successful trips out of body and to advance through lessons given to us out of body (and in the real world)
Those are just some things, there are more. I am designing a course on this topic, slowly...

As for fear, fear is the main block a person will have, and you need to think about this in connection to how fear controls you back in the waking world. Life is all about overcoming fears and if you don't, you get stuck. The same applies to being out of body. You can read some material that will put you off doing it, and that material may be inaccurate, misleading, disinformation, or may have some truths but which is not explained properly. That can create blocks. We are powerful beings, but we each need to grow that power to return to what we were before splitting off. This takes a lot of time and dedication. Fear is natural.

If you encountered a alien in the flesh, you would likely be afraid, not because you are a coward, not being you are not brave, but because it's a natural human reaction—to be afraid of something new and unknown. The same applies to the sensations you may begin to feel when splitting off into your astral vehicle/body. If you fear those sensations, if you focus on them when they are occurring, you can stop the process of splitting and you won't get out of body. But if this occurs... don't judge your self, just acknowledge that you will try again and not focus on any sensations.

Remote viewing was mentioned above which reminded me of a projection technique.

I just wanted to mention that I don't see remote viewing relating to conscious projection (AP/OOBE) in terms of being a method to use for learning to leave your body. I've never come across this in any teaching material (books) for astral projection either, and I've read a lot on this topic. I do understand that experienced remote viewers can reach a point where they become immersed in the target they are viewing, meaning it is like they are there—I have remote viewed, but I have not had such an experience. It's certainly possible that a split has occurred and conscious projection into a higher dimension has taken place, but there are certain things you would notice if this is the case, such as sensations of leaving your body, a ripping feeling, a strange noise, vibrations, etc, and you would lose your awareness of your physical body back in the room/location you were viewing from. But when saying that, you can develop the ability to be in both places at once, it's just rare. Point being, it's possible to learn remote viewing and eventually get to a point of being able to project consciously, if that is actually taking place when people experience this. For me, normal remote viewing though has no similarities to astral projection / a conscious out of body experience as this is just a psychic ability, and a psychic ability is completely different to detaching from this world and going elsewhere consciously, with 100% focus on your new location.

When we are using techniques to get out of body (you are laying there comfortably with eyes closed, you have gone through your processes, such as relaxing each part of your physical body, doing some energy work to stimulate the chakras and possibly store some energy for projecting, etc) one technique is to think of a place you are very familiar with.

Pick a space in the real world that you have visited often, where the detail is easy to visualise in minds eye. You then project your consciousness there by focusing really hard on actually being there, and using your senses to pick up what's around you, as it would be in real life. This can help to bring you out of body, into the real time environment (the label I use for the astral version of Earth). You will be in that location, but the astral version of it, meaning you can pick up on events occurring in the real wold, at that location, but of course filtered through the higher frequencies that you are residing in, so not everything is 100% accurate because of how time works, and how multiple realities (think multiverse theory) intersect. (you may experience some of the symptoms of leaving your body beforehand of course, as per the norm when consciously leaving your body).

Yeah, I forgot that. This is also part of the Buhlman method (next to the affirmations with it). It is very effective. I can recommend it.

Alain, if you want to start with a projection in your room into the astral-physical / 'etheric' layer of reality then you can in your mind go to objects in your room and touch them while you are lying in bed. Do this before going to sleep. Repeat it. Also when you wake up again (WB2B method, see above).

Perform even all the steps that make you walk there through your room and the getting up and down again, all in your mind. Or touch the objects while you are lying in bed. Touch them and see them, smell them if they have a smell.

This will also help loosen your energy body since by this method you make your first kind of 'etheric' enhancement of your energy body setup. It helped me big time back then in 2009 when I did it by Buhlman's method.

It can get scary in the beginning at night also during half-sleep. My first reactions at night before I did the projection (about 3 weeks after I read his book and started trying) were that I discovered my self with one 'etheric' arm stretched up in the air (me lying on the back) but with that arm feeling paralyzed. But in the physical my physical body was still lying normally on the side! This was the first sign of 'etheric/astral' body separation and stepping to and fro between them. Similar energetic things can happen in the first nights when you start this. Do not fear it. Your energy body has to loosen if you want to project fully with your energy bodies.

Another tip: If you have the resources, choose another place at home for projecting than the bed you sleep in. A 2nd/spare bed, sofa, a recliner chair (if possible for you), mattress on the floor, whatever. Choosing a different setting makes it a 'ritual' for you and it also helps to anchor your intent in your subconscious just like the other measures already proposed.

Amazing! this just happened to me about 2-3 weeks ago. I started looking into Dolores Cannon, I was directed to this site, Dolores Cannon was again mentioned here somewhere, I took that as a sign, and I started reading more of her books, and that unlocked some answers to some questions I was having! (Like: Why was I here?)

It's like, in my case, reading material unlocks things for me.

The messages I get are very subtle, but out of all the subtle messages I get, I go with the strongest or more persistent messages and they have helped every time. I just need to listen.

There are also some breathing techniques that the yogis used for years now to levitate the astral body. I do them as much as I can. One of them is to breathe in and place your tong over to block the air and then let the air flow into the two nadi channels
But this had to be done very often !
It works
