There's a point - 7,000 RPM
Where everything fades away
The machine becomes weightless
Just disappears
And all that's left is a body moving through space and time
7,000 RPM
That's where you meet it
You can feel it coming
Creeps up on you close in your ear
Asks you a question
The only question that matters
Who are you

Carroll Shelby

Watched Ford V Ferrari last night, and these words were in the opening and closing sequences. Carroll Shelby was a famous race car driver and auto designer, who also worked with Ford Motor Company to build a car that would beat Ferrari at the LeMans race. (I'm leaving out the larger story in case anyone wants to watch the movie.) Of course I have a soft spot for this tale because as a teenager, I worked hard, saved my money, and bought a used 1965 Mustang. Shelby was an interesting person because he pursued his dreams. He had his flaws, but he kept his eyes on the horizon - always moving.

These words catapulted into my heart. For me, they crystalized the feeling and knowing when you are at that perfect point. Some call it the zone.

Visiting with friends and family, I hear, see, and feel their sense of "what is going on?". I've carried on with my work - all in my little sphere. Although I've had glimpses of something more, I've not quite settled on what more to do. Then these words came to me - like a gift - a gift of clarity. When do I feel that sense of 7,000 RPM? Can I bring others along with me?

The machine, our physical bodies, becomes weightless, and all that's left is a body, our energetic body, moving through time and space. Is it really this simple?

We know who we are. Let our lights shine brightly.

That's one movie I gotta see. I grew up in the muscle car era and all those old cars hold a soft spot in me. I miss the feeling of being pinned to the back of my seat as I blew away from a red light.
We know who we are. Let our lights shine brightly.
Time to shine, the world needs us more then ever.

Glad we were watching it at home. During the big race, I had to get up and pace around. Well, I do tend to get caught up in movies.

These words popped up again just - cleaning up a stack of stuff and found the words I'd written down.

A little earlier, I was searching for a way to display several stained glass pieces my brother made for me. Looked online and did not find a solution - got a bit frustrated - but decided to turn it over to my creative side. I went on about my work and the workable solution slid right into my conscious mind.

I smiled because I knew I could trust a part of me to take that trip to 7,000 RPM.

Anyone else having these experiences?

You call it 7000 RPM (good analogy). I call it creativity - it's when you visualise how you are going to create something. Yes, that happens for me. See it in mind's eye, manifest it.

I have got a car that goes to 9000 rpm but understand what he means by at 7000 rpm (redline) everything fades.
fantastic movie by the way,...

there is a certain point that you get into the "flow".
You don't think anymore. You enjoy, you feel, you are doing a 100 things at the same time to get the car in the right spot ,... at that moment you just are one with everything; moving in an intuitive way as your mind is too slow to follow.
at that moment you indeed need to decide if let go of the monkey brain, (all) fear, how far you push it and if you can live in the moment.

this can also be with other activities where you get push it to the limit. eventually you will get to your boundaries and how do you deal with them: having fun, giving in, taking it on the safe side, taking risks, complaining, letting life come to you,...

I guess the trick is how to get there and stay as long as possible... all the time? Consistently? I imagine so, eventually....
