As you are aware, you incorporate things of your day-to-day life into your dream symbology.

For me, my little orange car which is my trustworthy companion, is "my vehicle", meaning: my body.

KIA SOUL.jpg

In last night's dream, I was driving around in this car. But also, my twin brother got to drive it, meaning it was his vehicle right then. He was going in a long, loop-de-loop detour, getting lost and confused, and I was trying to feed directions to him. Because, we needed to find and meet "Our Father". For this symbology I infused the dream with a picture of the character, Martin Crane, from the TV serial, Frasier. Our Father had needed to go off and get a change of clothes.

But then, there he was at the appointed place, and we got to him in my little orange car. But with Our Father, were a couple of Rabbis, and some rabbinical assistants. And they were loaded up with all kinds of books, tomes, and some other equipment necessary for them, probably some candelabra, and I think perhaps the Ark of the Covenant, but I didn't really need to know exactly what it was they were lumbering around with on a little hand-cart. After loading up my vehicle with all of these books, and loading in Martin Crane and my twin brother, there was no further room for me. So the rabbinical assistants asked me to open my arms and receive a load of books, and I would need to walk it to the destination (which wasn't too far away). As the books settled into my arms, the load was just so heavy. I really felt burdened by it. In dreams, I have a strong sense of visual and sound, but this was the actual feeling of carrying something heavy. Like my legs slightly buckled under the load.

Then I woke up and I realised: it was religion!

Not only that, my twin brother is a strong Christian, so in my dream he was getting lost on the path, going into all the subdivisions and going around and around. But the crucial thing is, my subconscious equated Judaism with Christianity because that is the root of it, if you dig right down. (And if you dig further, well there're things before that). So it was like all the burden of religion (the Abrahamic religions) stemming from this ancient root, and having grown wildly out of control and burdening those carrying it as their primary life-sense story. I do think the Sumerians (and visitors to earth like Oannes, Enlil and Enki) were more ancient roots of religious phenomena, but the timescale of the Old Testament is probably a lot bigger than assumed, going back before Solomon's time.

The bit about the God figure needing to get a change of clothes, makes me think we're lined up and sitting in an audience, waiting for the false light to bring on their saviour figure. Probably due any time now. I hope people can learn to dump religion before they get taken in with this new (apparently captivating) one.

So time to dump it all now, release the heaviest burden. Writing all this, I've gotten to thinking it's book knowledge too (something I definitely heft about with me).

I love what you come up with Hailstones Melt. It always fascinates me and mostly seems self sufficient since you have the insight to read into it.
This one seems particularly fascinating and personal to you.

I don't know about you, but in primary school, I used to do laps around the school oval at lunch time with 1 or 2 friends, debating metaphysics and philosophical thoughts - the big stuff. (OK, sometimes I jumped rope, did the hoola hoop, played elastics, hopscotch and batted a ball about, too).

I didn't know about sophistry then, but this is what the Sophists used to do in ancient Greek for-a. (I had to hyphenate that word - it wouldn't let me type the plural of forum).

Apparently Sophists could really do your head in. That's the reason, their heads were so full of knowledge there was no room for any new ideas!

Here are a couple of cards from the Rajneesh Neo-Tarot Deck (still my favourite, this was published 36 years ago!)

Dropping Knowledge_No_13.jpg

(Page 20 in the book in the Tarot pack): You are ready to drop falseness, drop borrowed knowledge, and go into your wisdom, your own understanding.

Naropa was a great scholar, a great pundit - this story happened before he became enlightened. It is said that he was the great vice-chancellor of a great university, ten thousand disciples of his own. One day, he was sitting surrounded by his disciples. All around him were scattered thousands of scriptures, very ancient, rare.

Suddenly, he fell asleep and he had a vision. It is so significant that to call it a dream won't be just - it was a vision.

He saw a very old, ugly, horrible woman, a hag. Her ugliness was so much that he started trembling in his sleep... She asked "Naropa, what are you doing?"
He said, "I am studying."
"What are you studying?" asked the old woman.
He said, "Philosophy, religion, epistemology, language, logic..."
The old woman asked, "Do you understand them?"
Naropa said, "Yes, I understand them."
The woman asked again, "Do you understand the word, or the sense?" And her eyes were so penetrating that it was impossible to lie to her... before her eyes Naropa felt completely naked, transparent.
He said, "I understand the words."
The woman started dancing and laughing... and her ugliness was transformed. A subtle beauty started coming out of her being.
Naropa thought, "I have made her so happy, why not make her a little more happy?" So he added, "Yes, and I understand the sense, also."
The woman stopped laughing, stopped dancing. She started weeping and crying, and all her ugliness was back - a thousandfold more.
Naropa asked, "Why?"
The woman said, "I was happy because a great scholar like you didn't lie. But now I am crying because you have lied to me. I know, and you know, that you don't understand the sense."
The vision disappeared - and Naropa was transformed. He left the university, he never again touched a scripture in his life. He understood....

A man of wisdom, a man of understanding, has a freshness about him, a fragrant life, totally different from a pundit, from a man of knowledge. One who understands the sense becomes beautiful, one who understands only the word becomes ugly. And the woman was just a projection of Naropa's inner part, his own being, become ugly through knowledge.

Naropa went in search. Now scriptures won't help. Now a living Master is needed.

Rajneesh Neo-Tarot Receptivity No_12.jpg

(:(Pages 19-20 in the book in the Tarot pack). It is time to stop aggressively seeking answers. Empty yourself totally, become receptive to the whole existence. Just relax, wait, and have a good time.

A professor of philosophy went to the Zen Master Nan-In, and asked him about God, meditation, and so many things. The Master listened silently and then he said, "You look tired. You have climbed this high mountain, you have come from a faraway place. Le me first serve you tea."

The professor waited. He was boiling with questions. But while the samovar was singing and the aroma of the tea started spreading, the Master said to him, "Wait! Don't be in such a hurry. Who knows? Even by drinking tea, your questions may be answered."

The professor started wondering whether his whole journey had been a waste. "This man seems to be mad. How can my question about God be answered by drinking tea?" But he was tired too, and it would be good to have a cup of tea before descending the mountain.

The Master brought the kettle, poured tea in the cup, and the tea started overflowing in the saucer, but he went on pouring. Then the saucer was also full. Just one drop more and the tea would start flowing on the floor! The professor said, "Stop! What are you doing? Can't you see the cup is full, the saucer is full?"

And Nan-In said, "That's the exact situation you are in. Your mind is so full of questions that even if I answer, you don't have any space for it to go in. And I tell you, since you entered this house, your questions are overflowing all over the place. This small hut is full of your questions! Go back, empty your cup, and then come. First create a little space in you.

You have come to an even more dangerous person than Nan-In, because with me an empty cup won't do. The cup has to be broken completely. Even empty, if you are there, then you are full. Only when you are not can the tea be poured into you. Only when you are not is there no need really to pour the tea into you. When you are not, the whole existence begins pouring, from every dimension, from every direction.

I received a lot of times the message to just relax, enjoy and everything will be all right.
But this is hard as we were thought to always have a plan, work diligently,....
Life is very confusing at this point and the last weeks I feel lost (not depressed but just lost :) ).

Now you provide this message again.
I always have been a seeker since the answers that were present just didn't seem right.
Now with a lot of knowledge it's still "eat, sleep and chop wood" ...

Maybe in 10 years it will make sense...O_o

Always been a master multi-talker and had the ability to pull a rabbit out of the hat when needed.
When I dropped this behavior and slowed down, I began to see and understand so much more.

edit
oops - meant multi-tasker

Well the business of eating, sleeping and chopping wood is to simplify the whole drama of living to the necessities. So perhaps the word you are feeling out for is to simplify, rather than simply relaxing.

I had an interesting psychic experience the other night. I haven't seen any ghosts or apparitions in my bedroom for quite a long time (as I normally yell at them as I am awoken. I think I am actually seeing an aspect of my Higher Self (oversoul) and because of my fearful reaction, I think everything backed off to give me some space to evolve). But on Sunday night, last, I had only been asleep about an hour, but I was awoken and opened my eyes while my head was still turned on the pillow. Directly in front of me I saw what appeared to be a man, all in shadow, standing there. I was disoriented, and thought an intruder had broken into my bedroom (thinking the bedroom door was that direction, which it was not). I yelled out "GO AWAY!" which is going to be a whole of use if it is an intruder! But then I realised the apparition was partially standing through my bed! Of course, I could have been viewing this with my third eye, with my external eyes still closed, but it felt as if they were open.

I have heard or read somebody more knowledgeable than I, say that when viewing an entity through a portal either partially or wholly in another dimension, you will only see a shadow of that form, meaning it all looked black/dark from my perspective, but most definitely was a human shape, with head, shoulders, body shape, etc. If you could get inside the other dimension with them, it would all be colour and light, most likely.

Anyhow, as I can drop these things quite easily and fall back to sleep, I did and thought no more about it. I was then awoken later in the night with the beginnings of a MEGA-dose of gastric bug, which has laid me low for 48 hours, and I am only just recovering today. I really don't think I was "given" this illness by an entity. I think I had it coming, and the observer part of me materialised a bit, for whatever reason. I saw the entity in the hours before it hit, before I had any idea what I was about to experience.

Over the last 2 days of keeping to bed, I obviously had many dreams, but a snippet of one in particular is worth mentioning. I was on a vessel, a boat of some kind, in a river or harbour setting. I was with numerous other people, both from the awake and aware camp and also the sleepy lot. The name of the vessel, in dark, capital lettering on a white name plate, was DYING DOWN. The boat was in a patch of rough water and it looked like it was going to capsize. Then, in an amazing, unbelievable feat, the prow and part of the boat's superstructure completely broke off and became its own boat, saving the lives of all on board of that part (and they were of the awake and aware camp!) It happened in a blink and so easily, and thanks went out from all on that part (I was observing all this from a dream perspective, but simultaneously on the vessel). The thing was, the broken off part completely healed in an instant and became whole. The relative size of the new boat was about one third or a little less than half of the original vessel, which presumably went down or was left to cope with the water ingress, etc.

I think of voyages 'across the water', ie to some faraway, unfamiliar place, when I hear of boat trips. Yours is fascinating! Perhaps particularly so in the setting of having a bug that kept you in bed.
I'm glad you've shared it.

I have had few dreams that I recall recently. One that I did have was of a house in a tree. It was not a 'treehouse' of any type I have seen previously. Rather, the tree had a room in each large branch where each person comfortably slept. I don't really know how it could have been so comfortably spacious, if the tree widened its branches, or what, I do know that it felt very cozy and healing. The tree I was in was interactive and I get the sense that this was the norm. It adapted to anyone coming in and met their needs.

I love this. I envision a ficus tree for this - they have very accommodating branches.

My dreams tend to tell me what energies are changing in my consciousness, so waking up is just being aware that change is occurring and putting the final piece in place in my waking life.

Love your dreams and insights Melt. Keep 'em coming.

Reading this just made me contemplate what may be a funny little irony of life.

Does becoming more 'awake' involve having a more active dream life?

If would seem just like universe's sense of humor :))

I think a lot of it is in how you interpret your dream perception, once back in waking life. For instance, I've had 2 dreams this week, one where I was asked my surname, and I automatically answered with my maiden name (YES! married name no longer identified with!), and in the other I was approached by my 2nd husband (separated but not divorced) and he appeared with deep dark circles under his eyes. Only upon waking did I realise I dreamed of him as a ghost. Meaning? He is now dead to me. Dreams are not so literal that he has actually died (although I don't know that) - but how does his influence affect me? According to the dream - in no new way.
