A Russian group has taken their work with drones to another level. They've devised a flying bike that hovers, too. It’s a unique electric-powered vessel combining a motorcycle seat with quadcopter drone technology ... The machine basically surfs through the air by changing altitude and direction. https://www.hoversurf.com/

In the video they sound very loud - much like a lawnmower or edge trimmer. It was developed for extreme sports, but they caught of the eye of law enforcement in Dubai. The real question is how high can you go, right? The ones being tested in Dubai are programmed for 5 meters (16.4 feet) and can fly at a maximum of 70 km/h (44 mph) for 25 minutes. Although in one test by the Hoversurf folks, the rider/pilot got to 28.5 meters (93.5 feet).

I can see how great it would be to fly around in difficult terrain, but the noise is too much for me. It would drive away any wildlife, too. Of course, the idea behind the creation was not for people like me, but for competitors in an extreme sports event where noise is not an issue.

Yikes...I can only imagine the horrific scene if one was to fall off of that thing!!! Those are four industrial sized blenders. Talk about the importance of keeping one's arms and legs "inside the ride" at all times...

I think the commercial models have guards, like a fan, over the rotors, but even then there must be some significant dangers - fingers or debris thrown up. Your comment reminded me of my younger years when my hair was down to my waist. Yikes, that would be problem.
