I wrote a piece for the transients website about Nabwana IGG, who makes action movies. He and most of his crew live in a slum outside Kampala, Uganda.

This story caught my attention because I am interested in people who "buck the system" and go their own way. Mr. IGG follows neither the rules of movie making nor the expectations for those who live in slums. I've watched some clips of his movies, but not an entire film, yet.

They have a local custom when watching movies. One person, who already has seen the movie, serves as a commentator. For example, in a quiet scene, he might say something like "Don't worry, the action starts up soon". Maybe it is like that show where the guy and his robot (?) make funny comments as old sci-fi movies run.

"Don't worry, the action starts up soon".
This sounds really funny.

I never, ever, watch the cast and crew commentaries that they stick as extras on the disks of some movies and series. I was never interested in having my show or movie ruined by someone talking over it, even if I had seen it 100 times. But I would probably enjoy it.
