A THING TO REMEMBER

Forgetting is a human trait.

Forgetting the realms from which we come,

Forgetting the work of the body that goes on behind the scenes,

Forgetting that the personality is just a costume to suit the play in hand,

Forgetting that light has its natural place in juxtaposition to dark,

Forgetting that we are as magnificent as creation, itself,

Forgetting that we know how to re-create, as the nucleus in every cell knows how to do,

Forgetting that wonder is reborn in our sight every morning,

Forgetting that desire is only need multiplied by fear,

Forgetting that loss is the precursor to new things.

Forgetting. It’s something we do.

HM, good topic and profound thoughts.

My suggestion:

Create a journal of things you want to remember.

I am reading through decades of my journals and found clues to some mysteries and discovered little treasures. Oddly enough, the things I forgot the most were incidents when I helped others. So in your journals, remember to record when you have done good (big and small events) and times you made a difference even if momentary.

Drama, which takes up the most space, can overwhelm the quotidian, and it can unbalance the best you have done.

Great suggestion, and very profitable (as in to be mined later on, the way an archaeologist finds gems in the debris).
