Using the word dimension is really just a way to define density. There are no layers going higher called dimensions as everything exists in an infinite space but for the purpose of talking about the density of energy we find ourselves in, or what we are aspiring to, we use the term dimension.
I'd love to see a relationship drawn (like people make mathematical equations or pictures/models that show how one thing is related to another) between: density, dimension, frequency, layers.
They seem very much related but perhaps each have their own quality/piece of the model to illuminate?

Look at your icon Lila. The circle of life illustrates all that perfectly. :-D

All those terms may just be the creation of the conscious mind to encapsulate a concept or create levels and separation, and may have no reality in the bigger picture from the 'other side' of consciousness. Words cannot define consciousness or box it into a concept.

I heard this saying a while back, sorta makes sense....Life is trying to understand the infinite with a finite mind...
Geez, that finite mind is like pulling a card out of a stack. Like saying you can have infinite mind but no body, or you can have the body with all the pulleys and mechanisms, but it comes with the finite mind.

Here's a twist on future life planning. I recently had a regression session with a young lady who saw no point in living, was suicidal and had deep sadness that was overwhelming throughout her life. When I had her focus on those feelings prior to hypnosis she felt them in her solar plexus as a 'pressing down, dense feeling of blackness'. When she focused on those feelings during hypnosis (which is really an expanded awareness) it took her back to a past time where there was a male aspect of her soul (some might call this a past life, however, when that 'person' is able to communicate directly with her it makes you question if it really is a past life, or just another aspect of her soul). When she located him/that time period, he turned his back to her while sending her a message telepathically that he's been waiting for her to to release what he had done to cause this sadness. He was ashamed at what he had done through 'trying to play God' and so couldn't look directly at her. He 'knew' a future self would be able to release the energy as well as himself and had been waiting for her. We were able to release him back into his soul source/light, and she felt the relief of the denseness leaving her body. There was a lot more details that I'll leave out for now, but thought to share this perspective of how future lives can or may be planned.

You and I may never know how important we are to the whole or that we hold the key to healing for our souls evolution....
