So I was talking to Anaeika about creativity a little and I thought it would be a fun to play with some art in here.

I will propose a subject for a piece of art, and whomever wants to join in can attempt however they wish to interpret that subject in whatever artistic medium they choose. You can do it with just a pencil sketch, watercolors, if you're keen to cross stitching, crayons, bead work, however... So long as it fills the subject.

I'm figuring to give each subject about two weeks and then we can share. And I already have a first subject picked out.

The Fox.
To be prepared by April 29th.

Let me know if you're interested in participating, and I look forward to seeing some fun and creative ways to interpret this.
:)

This sounds like a great idea. I will join in. I don't have much material here to create art with but I will give it a go!

I am giving it a try, working out a part of my brain that rarely gets used. I watched a youtube video on how to draw a fox. I could do this project with my kids too.

Giving a little bump for those that want to join in, and a gentle reminder for those already intending.

I started sketching a little today and I've had a few other ideas pop into my head. But I'm ultimately still a little unsure how I want to do it. Heheh.

I saw your first post and was thinking about it. A couple of nights later, I heard a fox call outside the window. Perhaps, she wanted in on the project. Then I collected a bunch of lightening wood. The missing piece is my inspiration. lol

Sometimes putting the pencil to paper and thinking "what could I create" starts that flood of inspiration. You get to decide; you can create over and over again.

Here's my effort - I call it "Mr Slinky". It's oil on canvas. I had to break out the paints after a long sojourn in the back of a cupboard, and all the acrylics were dried up in their tubes. Oil paint really is a pleasure to work with - the only issue is it can take months to fully dry, but I have no problem with that!

That is so phenomenal HM! I've never worked with oil paints. It's so exciting to see this! Mr. Slinky is awesome.

Sooooo - this afternoon, as I was getting my stuff from my car, a fox ran down the neighbors' driveway - very unusual in the daytime. Of course, I thought of this project and how I had not figured out what to do. Then boom, it was in my head. Clearly the universe wants me to embrace the fox!!

I'll go ahead and post mine now too, as I think it's about as done as I can make it.
It's very life like and I think you did so well with the range of colors as they seem perfect. An interesting expression.

Here’s mine that I just quickly sketched.
It's very cute. I bet it would also look great with color!
